The first thing that you would like to do when you visit Agra is go straight to the Taj Mahal. This antique was established by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan for his dearest wife Arjumand Bano Begum, popular as Mumtaz Mahal. Actually it is an indication of eternal love of a man for his wife. This red sandstone marvel fort is also popularly known as Red Fort. Spread over an area of 2.5 km, the fort includes two gates named as Delhi gate and Amar Singh gate. Shahjahan spent the last few years of his life in prison at this fort. The fort was made up of 500 Akbari buildings, out of which only a few have survived including The Jahangiri Mahal, Khaas Mahal, Moti Masjid, Sheesh Mahal, Diwan-I-Khas, Anguri Bagh and Diwan-I-Aam etc.
